Yarning
In collaboration with artist Su Melo, Yarning emerged as a performance from the questions: how is coloniality entangled in my skin? how does is weave with my thoughts? how does it cross my story, intimate life and positionality today? The performance aims to explore the deep entanglement of coloniality in the bodies through memories and threads, inviting our history and present to speak as part of one same tread that reveals itself to the conscious in intermitent ways. 

The performance was created for the Symposium: Decolonial Futures, an exchange programme organised between the Sandberg Instituut, the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Framer Framed in Amsterdam as well as Funda Community College in Soweto, South Africa.
